Miss Connecticut
2022
At 24 years old, Sylvana González has spent the last decade of her life committed to serving victims of abuse. Her own experiences working through generational trauma have helped people struggling to find a way to end the cycle of abuse.
The Miss Connecticut Scholarship Organization expanded her worldview and enabled her to commit to her healing journey by launching her Social Impact Initiative – Ending the Cycle of Abuse, With Heart.
This initiative allows Sylvana to cast a light on the many faces of abuse; and, through education and compassion, help people see the value in creating and protecting their "Las Paz" so they can be the change in their lineage of generational trauma.

I'm Sylvi, and I was made to love.
As a Puertorriquena, born and raised here on the mainland, I was provided with resources and a perspective that has allowed me to explore my endless potential. I realized at a young age that trauma carried through our family for generations no longer deserved a place in our home.
When I found the Miss Connecticut Organization, is when my life changed. I learned I had the power to change my family's trauma and end the cycles of abuse that came before me. Being Miss Connecticut has given me a platform to change peoples’ lives–and continues to change mine.
As Miss Connecticut 2022, I commit to advocating for those suffering from abuse and modeling survivorship as a lifelong commitment.
